Laminated glass

Bonding two panes together with a plastic material or a resin produces this. The interlayer, which is usually polyvinyl butyral, can be either clear or tinted. The bonding is achieved by heating the glass /interlayer sandwich under pressure in an autoclave. When laminated glass is broken, the interlayer tends to hold the fragments of broken glass in place. It is regarded as a safety glass and safety glazing material. Its breakage pattern and strength depend on the glass components and the load duration.

Bent glass

Is produced by heating annealed glass to the point where it softens and then can be pressed or sag bent over formers. Bends can be created in one or two planes. Bending can be incorporated in the toughening process to produce curved glass. Bent glass can be laminated.

    Glass cutting.

·        The standard glass stock sheet (clear, tinted & reflective) dimensions are (3210 x 2250)& (3210 x 2000) should be consider in any design to minimize the glass wastage i.e. Minimize the cost. For any other sizes or jumbo size please refer to marketing & sales department for advice.

·        Concerning laminated glass it is strictly recommend using 8.38mm minimum to minimize glass breakage during production, transportation or installation.

·        To insure 90o corner 20 mm trimming should be done all around the stock sheet.

·        Minimum glass thickness for cutting 3 mm.

·        Maximum glass thickness for cutting 19 mm.

·        Minimum glass angel 25 degree.

    Holes (drillings), polishing

& beveling.

·        Minimum hole diameter 6mm.

·        Maximum holes diameter 35 mm. For bigger sizes please refer to marketing & sales department

·        Edge distance between the edge of hole and glass edge should be 2.5 glass thickness Less than that we should allow slot till the glass edge. 

·        Minimum beveling 10 mm.

·        Maximum beveling 50 mm.

·        The minimum glass thickness to allow the above process 3 mm.

·         The maximum glass thickness to allow the above process19 mm.

·        Concerning polishing edge we can produce pencil edge, round edge in addition we can allow mitring with different angel.
